Inspire MANAK Assist Vision
An assistive technology prototype using computer vision and embedded hardware to help visually impaired users.
What it is
An assistive technology prototype exploring computer vision, embedded hardware, wireless communication, and audio feedback. The project focuses on helping visually impaired users navigate and understand their environment through technology.
The problem
Helping visually impaired users navigate and understand their environment through technology. Existing solutions are often expensive, cumbersome, or limited in capability. This project explores a more accessible, integrated approach.
How it works
The system uses real-time computer vision for object detection and scene understanding. An embedded processor handles the vision pipeline, and results are delivered to the user through audio feedback over wireless communication links.

Development
Completed in 2024 as a school project. Developed by a team of three over approximately six weeks, from initial research through working prototype.
